Well, looks like you can add the name of Whitney Houston to the long list of entertainers such as Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Jimmy Hendrix, Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson and others how have died from drug abuse. Sadly, I doubt she will be the last. Whitney, 48, was found in the bathtub of the Hilton Hotel she was staying in prior to the Grammy’s. In fact, now the Grammy’s plan a last minute tribute to Whitney Houston song by Jennifer Hudson. If you happened to see it, well, I’m sorry you wasted those few minutes of your life, you’ll not get them back. Hudson absolutely butchered the song and the tribute was…cheesy to say the least.

But in a great move of hypocrisy, LL Cool J led the Hollywood audience in a prayer. And when the camera panned across the audience, you could see nearly every head bowed. You know, by the same industry who will go out of its way to denounce religion at its every opportunity. Maybe some of those in attendance had a wake up call?

Anyway, as it happened after Michael Jackson died, all that has been heard on TV is how great an entertainer Whitney was and what an inspiration she was. Really? C’mon, she had a few so-so hits quite a few years ago. The song “I will always love you” was borrowed from Dolly Pardon after she had a huge hit with it and after it was the title song of the Movie “Body Guard” where Kevin Costner directed Houston. Had it not been for those two hand-in-hand accounts, I doubt we’d be hearing much about Whitney Houston.

Just a few days before her death, she was spotted partying in Hollywood and TMZ had photo’s of her with drops of blood on her legs. Go figure that one!

Trace Adkins’ home burned late Saturday afternoon. He and his wife were not at home when the fire started, but some house guest and his Children were. Everyone made it out okay. Media reports that the 5000 sf home is a total lost. No cause of the fire has been determined at this point. Trace is expected to appear on the CMA Awards later on in the week. Now work whether or not he’ll actually make it now or not.

There’s also no work on where the Country music singer and his family will be staying while the home is rebuilt. It was reported by Yahoo News that his Wife was only ten minutes away when a neighbor called and told her that her house was on fire. She later said it was very tragic because some irreplaceable things were lost like a lot of Trace’s awards and memorabilia.

We wish the Adkins family all the luck in the world and a speedy recovery from such a tragic event.

Lady Gaga topped Amazon’s best selling list for downloaded MP3′s this week with ‘Born this Way‘. Easily over taking the downloaded MP3′s for ‘Codes and Keys’ by Death Cab for Cutie and ’21′ by Adele. I expect Lady Gaga’s single ‘Born this Way’ will stay at the top for quite a while. So far this single is taking off like wildfire and she’s all the rage on the talk shows right now. If it’s one thing Lady Gaga is, it’s a promoter and she knows how to grab the limelight and promote her image and music.

In fact, rumor has it that “Born this Way” is one of the all time bestselling downloads for Amazon and their servers were having trouble keeping up with the demand for the downloaded album and single!
